With the City's loss of revenue of approximately 1.6 million annually, Erica provided the concept of volunteers planting plants and donors providing funds to help. This solution to beautify the City of Laguna Hills saved the City significant revenue while engaging the community and beautifying the City of Laguna Hills.

In 2020 the City and State were shut down and people were not allowed to have business indoors. Erica brought the concept of allowing businesses the opportunity to do business outside. After the introduction of this concept, outdoor dining has become a fundamental part of many restaurants during and after the pandemic in the City of Laguna Hills.
The L H was originally created by a Boy Scout in Laguna Hills. Over the years the L H deteriorated due to the lack of understanding who was ultimately responsible for the maintenance. This dilemma was an issue Erica presented to the council and championed the idea of the LH needing to be completed professionally and maintained by the City of Laguna Hills in order for all residents to appreciate it in perpetuity.
After listening to a number of residents who communicated a need for events at the City, Erica introduced Movies in the Park. While the launch occurred pre-Covid-19 the movies at the Park provide entertainment for residents and opportunities for local organizations to fundraise.
Erica Added more events during the Holiday Season for residents to enjoy. In addition, Erica along with the Laguna Hills Chamber of Commerce created the first citywide Holiday Light Competition which is called the Holiday Light Extravaganza.
In early 2019, Erica led the concept of having council member offices so that the city council had an area to engage with residents and do work to improve the City of Laguna Hills.
In June 2022, Erica created the Citywide Beautification, Events and Communication Committee in order to improve the City's aesthetics, improve the events in the City and also the Communication from the City to residents.
In June 2022, Erica created the Economic Development Committee in the City to provide support for local businesses, to improve the business environment, attract strong businesses in the City of Laguna Hills and work with the existing Chamber of Commerce.
Erica introduced the idea for prescription drugs to be dropped off at the Civic Center.
in June of 2022, Erica introduced providing announcements to the agenda to keep residents informed about what is going on in the City of Laguna Hills. In addition she added Council member Committee Reports. Council members can now provide information to the City regarding meetings at the regional level.
In 2020 Erica co-authored a campaign finance law in the City of Laguna Hills, this law earned the City of Laguna Hills an A- rating from the Citizens United.
Erica brought a negotiator to the City of Laguna Hills to structure a agreement to enhance what the City would receive from the the developers of the Village at Laguna.
To improve the business environment, Erica structured a partnership and agreement with the Laguna Hills Chamber of Commerce. The goal is to provide tools to the business community to enhance the business environment in the City of Laguna Hills.
